This ring is designed and handmade by Erick Begay. It is designed with14K White Gold that is rolled into a flat wire, and hand-tooled: stamped, chiseled and filed.
The symbolism of four is common in Navajo culture, as the boundary of the Navajo reservation is the four sacred mountain, and if one lives within the four sacred mountain that are "protected" and "in harmony". This ring symbolizes the four sacred mountains, four seasons, four sacred plants (corn, beans, squash and tobacco), and four directions.
The other designs that are incorporated in the ring (these are not in all rings) are sunrises, sun or moon, lightning, rain etc.
This style of ring can be purchased singly or in matching pair to create the perfect Navajo wedding band ring. (women's not shown but is 6mm wide).
The designs are hand-stamped with no two exactly alike. The subsequent designs are added with filing and sawing techniques. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery (for sizing).
The Mens size measure approximately 8mm wide, and the ladies is 6mm wide.
